Loran C. (Chief) Jacobs, Sr.Port HuronMr. Loran C. (Chief) Jacobs, Sr., age 89, of Port Huron, passed away on March 6, 2017, in Lake Huron Medical Center, with his family by his side.He was born on April 23, 1927, in Port Huron, to the late David and Annie Jacobs.Loran married Betty D. Crawford on May 12, 1956, in Angola, Indiana. Betty later passed on October 12, 2015.He served honorably in the United States Army, was a retired truck driver for Mueller Brass Company, a member of Chippewa's of Sarnia and enjoyed going to casinos and scratching off lottery tickets.Loran is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, David (Diana) Jacobs of Maryland, son and daughter-in-law, Loran (Judy) Jacobs of Arizona, son and daughter-in-law, Edward (Tracey) Jacobs of Port Huron, son, Timothy Jacobs of Florida, step-daughter, Janet Moenart of Imlay City, grandchildren, Scott, Chris, Stormie, Andy, Amber, Ashley, Autumn, Morgan, Dylan, Gracie and several great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by 8 brothers and sisters.Funeral services will be 11:00am, Friday, March 10, 2017, in the Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Avenue, Port Huron. Reverend Johnnie Johnson will officiate.
