Lorena Mary (Schukei) Werner passed away at her home on Sunday, October 28, 2012 surrounded by her family. She was born on January 25, 1921 in Kenesaw, NE to Herman and Emma (Uden) Schukei who preceded her in death. Lorena married Elmer Werner on June 1, 1947. They relocated to Yuma, AZ in 1964 where she has lived ever since. Her husband, Elmer Werner preceded her in death as well.Lorena loved to quilt and was active in the Lutheran Women's Missionary League at Christ Lutheran Church, Yuma, AZ. She is survived by her four children: Elliott (Anita) of Santa Teresa, NM; Ron (Nicki) of Yuma, AZ; Nancy Pendleton (Bob) of Yuma, AZ and James (Ann) of Idaho Falls, ID and seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 2555 S. Engler Ave., Yuma, AZ on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at 4 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 2, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Wanda Township, Nebraska.In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to Lutheran Women's Missionary League, Hospice of Yuma or the Cemetery Trust Fund of Zion Lutheran Church, Wanda Township, NE.
