www.cron-sheehy.comLoretta E. (Cossalter) Berryman, 92, of Eveleth died Sunday, April 2, 2017 at New Journey Residence in Eveleth. She was born on May 18, 1924 in Eveleth, the 10th of 11 children to Joseph and Louisa (Volpez) Cossalter. Loretta graduated from Eveleth High School, Eveleth Junior College and the University of Minnesota. She was a well-rounded athlete and was one of Eveleth's first female hockey players. Loretta was united in marriage to William G. Berryman on June 12, 1948 in Minneapolis. Following her marriage, they lived in Eveleth and Bloomington. Loretta worked as a social worker for the Veterans Administration and upon retirement they returned to Eveleth; spending their winters in Scottsdale, Arizona. Loretta was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church, was an avid golfer and along with her husband enjoyed horses, extensive traveling and were season ticket holders and loyal supporters of the MN Vikings.She is survived by a sister, Julia Schrecngost of Pennsylvania; sisters-in-law, Annabelle Cossalter of Eveleth and Lelia Hier of Sioux Falls, SD and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.She was preceded in death by her husband, William; siblings, Elvira, Enes, Romulus, Remus, Elsie, Sisto, Joseph, Clem, one in infancy and Bill's family.
