Loretta was born on May 29, 1951, in Bakersfield, California, to her parents Jessie Jefferson and Della Williams. She grew up in a nurturing household with siblings Jessie, Tyrone, and Michael while learning the values of hard work, perseverance, and kindness from her parents.
Loretta then married the love of her life of 40 plus years, Theodis Nelson. Together, they built a beautiful life and shared more than a century of love and commitment. Their union was blessed with two wonderful children, Kenya Nelson and Donell Reedom, who brought immeasurable joy to their lives.
Throughout her life, education played a significant role in shaping Loretta's journey. She attended Wasco High School, where she displayed exceptional academic prowess and a keen interest in learning. Her passion for knowledge led her to pursue further studies at California State University of Bakersfield, where she obtained a degree in a field close to her heart.
Loretta dedicated several decades of her professional life to the betterment of the educational system. She worked with unyielding dedication at Wasco High School, where she touched the lives of countless students and fellow staff members. Her empathetic nature, nurturing spirit, and unwavering support made her a guiding source of inspiration for those around her.
