Lori Ann Smith Lori Ann Smith, age 55, of Hampstead, N.C., passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2016.She was born on January 22, 1961 in Cambridge, Ohio, the daughter of the late Walter H. and Kathleen B. Sanders of Akron, Ohio.Lori is survived by her husband, Dave Smith; son, Gene C. Smith of San Diego, Calif.; siblings, Vickie L. Sanders of Akron, Ohio, Megan S. Fleener of Akron, Ohio, Kevin E. Sanders of Akron, Ohio, Eddie Potts of Senecaville, Ohio, Cheryl Budgett of Chico, Calif., Susan G. Saintenjoy of Senecaville, Ohio, Joseph Potts of Senecaville, Ohio, John C. Potts of Senecaville, Ohio, and Jason Potts of Alabama. Together with her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, James W. Sanders and Gary D. Sanders.Lori was a graduate of North High School in Akron, Ohio Class of 1979. She continued her studies at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Ill. and Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. Lori was a Registered Nurse and worked at Akron City Hospital and St. Thomas Hospital. Lori loved the outdoors and the company of people. She also enjoyed fishing and hiking. Prior to relocation to North Carolina, she farmed in Diamond, Ohio.A celebration of Lori's life will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron.
