Lori Clara Thomas-Lemon was born on May 23, 1946 in Dorchester, South Carolina to the late Frank Thomas and Louise Thomas. Lori received her education at East Boston High School in Boston, MA.
Lori was born in South Carolina to a African-American mother and a Guyanese Father. Lori spent most of her childhood in New York until relocating to Massachusetts permanently at age 9. While living in New York she attended St. Kevin Catholic Academy in Queens, New York through her early years. Once Lori moved back to Boston she received her education at East Boston High School.
She relocated to Brooklyn, NY in 1964 where she met her spouse, Charles Lemon and they had two children together, Jamie and Tami. Shortly after her and Charles married in 1973 in Brooklyn, NY. In 1980 she relocated to Trinidad with her husband and 2 children but shortly after moved back to New York.
Lori was a very generous and hardworking woman. While living in NYC she owned a Convenience store for 35 years. She attended and became a member of The Church of Saint Mark.
In honor of her mother, Louise, Lori was an avid gardener. She traveled extensively with her husband and family and always enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father.
She entered peacefully into eternity on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at Trinitas Regional Hospital in Elizabeth, New Jersey.
She leaves to cherish her moments, but not limited to: her loving husband of 50 years, Charles Lemon; 2 daughters, Jamie Lemon of Hempstead NY and Tami Davis of Brooklyn NY; 4 grandchildren, Timothy Gill of Washington DC, Sierra Davis of Queens NY, Alexis Davis of Brooklyn NY and Britany Gill of Atlanta GA; 7 great-grandchildren, Adrianna Gill, Kateon Gill of Washington DC, Jaylen Green of Brooklyn NY, Timothy Gill Jr of Washington DC, Kaiya Green of Fort Myers FL, Zion Jones of Fort Myers FL and Kai Green of Fort Myers FL; 1 brother, John Thomas of Brentwood NY; 1 sister, Glenda Thomas of Springfield MA; 2 half brothers, 2 nieces, Shirley Thomas of Brooklyn NY and Linda Moore Jersey City NJ; 2 nephews, Randy Moore of Brooklyn NY and Kevin Thomas of Queens NY; and a host of great nieces and nephews and other family realities.
