LORIS KATHRYN LOPER passed away October 13, 2016 at the age of 75 in San Juan Capistrano, CA. Loris Kathryn Budd was born on January 28, 1941 to Reed Morse Budd and Mabel Kathryn Taylor in Fennimore, Wisconsin. She graduated from Barneveld High School in 1959 and enrolled at the
University of Wisconsin Madison the following Fall on a scholarship. After her first year at UW Madison, she married Daniel C. Loper and put her studies on hold as she raised three children and worked during the early years to help make ends meet. Determined to continue her education she returned to the classroom and received her BA in Psychology from UC Riverside in 1975, an MA in General Psychology from Pepperdine in 1982, and a MPH in Health Administration from Loma Linda University in 1990; all while raising her three daughters in Riverside, CA. In 1998 she moved to Corona del Mar, CA where her love of the sea blossomed. Lori, as she was known to many, had a heart for those in need, especially children. As a licensed Marriage, Family, and Child Therapist she worked as a Mediator at San Bernardino Family Court Services, served as the Director of the Psychiatric Intensive Treatment Program at Sierra Vista in San Bernardino, CA, had her own private practice as a Marriage, Family, and Child Therapist in Riverside, CA, and helped many as a Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Counselor at Kaiser in Orange, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents and older, infant brother Dayle Budd. She is survived by her daughters Michelle (Thomas) Rhodes, Rachel Daniel, and Christine (Jeffry) Brusseau as well as her seven grandchildren whom she adored: Matthew, Taylor, and Ashley Rhodes, Jasmine and Amber Daniel, and Mason and Dalton Brusseau. She is also survived by her nine siblings: Donna (Kelly) Lehr, Eugene (Linda) Budd, Dennis (Sharon) Budd, Faye Sullivan, Donald (Corinne) Budd, LaVon (Phil) Koenig, Joyce (Ron) Fargo, Bruce (Sheila) Budd, and Dean Budd, as well as by a multitude of nephews and nieces. A woman of quiet strength, Lori will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family and those she served in therapy. Her legacy and love will be carried on through the lives she touched. There will be a celebration of life gathering Sunday, November 20, 2016 from 1:00pm-4:00pm at the Legion Hall in Barneveld, Wisconsin. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 11:00 am at Mariners Church Irvine in the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations to the and USO are greatly appreciated.
