Dewane, Lorraine R.Lorraine R. Dewane, 93, Luxemburg, passed away peacefully Monday morning, October 21, 2013. Lorraine was born on March 8, 1920 in Luxemburg, Wisconsin. She was the only child of Ed and Florence (DeBaker) Dalebroux.Lorraine was valedictorian of her Luxemburg High School graduating class, attended business college, and was then employed at Wisconsin Public Service. Lorraine married Dr. Emmet Dewane, DDS, on September 7, 1940 at St. Mary's Church in Luxemburg. Lorraine and "Doc" were very involved in the Luxemburg Community. They devoted a lot of time and energy to the early years of NorthBrook County Club, Luxemburg, where they were charter members. Lorraine was a long time member of St. Mary Parish, Luxemburg, past President of the Altar Society - Christian Mothers Society, and president of many other organizations including the American Legion Auxiliary Ralph Kline Post 262 (member for over 67 years), Brown- Door- Kewaunee Dental Auxiliary, and past President of NorthBrook Ladies Golf League. Lorraine loved to play Bridge. Lorraine's Bridge Club was together for over 50 years. They were more than a card club, sharing family events and community service. As an avid gardener, Lorraine loved to be outside for any reason, but especially tending to her flowers. Friends and neighbors would stop by to chat with her in the breezeway of her home. Lorraine's wonderful neighbors helped her in later years, allowing her to live in her home for over 73 years, until August of 2012. Lorraine is survived by her son, Pat (Jane) Dewane, Austin, TX; her daughter and two sons-in-law, Sue (Jim) Vine, Neenah, WI; Frank Steffen, Seattle WA; seven grandchildren, Christopher (Helen), Dallas, TX; Michael (Dina) Driftwood, TX; Katie (Ted) Kramer, Austin, TX; Tagen (Carrie)Vine, Whitefish, MT; Katy (George) Sledge, Austin, TX; Suzanne Steffen, Appleton, WI; Sgt. Jon (Nicol) Steffen, USMC, Camp Pendleton, CA. Lorraine is further survived by eight great- grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; husband Emmet; daughter, Kay Steffen; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
