LORRAINE D. KENDALL, 75 LANARK - Lorraine D. Kendall, 75 yrs. old, of Lanark passed away at her home on October 2, 2013. Lorraine was born on October 28, 1937, in Takoma Park, M.D. the daughter of Gilbert and Goldie E. (Darkey) Hennen. Lorraine met her husband Joe in Washington D.C. while they were both employed by the Trailways Bus Line. They were married April 30, 1960, in Gaffney, South Carolina. In 1970 Lorraine, her husband, and two children moved to Illinois. Lorraine was a cook for the Freeport School District in the 1970's and early 80's. She was also head cook for several years of the Handicap camp held at Oakdale nature preserve, Girlscout camp in Hannover IL, and several special school camp outings. She loved spending time and caring for her children and grandchildren. She loved family gatherings and enjoyed great conversation. Lorraine is survived by one daughter, Tracee (Gerald) Keeney of Lena; six grandchildren, Jeremy (Becky) Kendall, Ashley Brown, Amanda (Mike) Huenefeld, April (Dan) Rucker, Alicia (Jake) Kness, and Arielle Keeney; three step grandchildren, Mike (Dawna) Keeney, Christopher Keeney, Mark Keeney; many great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews; four sisters, Pearl Kearns, Audrey Brockson, Delores Solis, and Janet Boswell. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Joseph Kendall Jr.; her son, Joseph Kendall III; three sisters; and two brothers. Visitation will be from 4 to 6:30 p.m., Tuesday October 8, with services at 6:30 p.m. at the Schwarz Park Blvd. Chapel 608 S. Park Blvd. with Pastor Floyd West of the Mount Carroll Baptist Church officiating. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Chapel until the time of Service.
