Lotus Irwin, 80, formerly of Clovis, died October 13, 2016, in Orange City, FL. Services will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2016, 2:00 PM, at Central Baptist Church, Clovis, NM, with Pastor Alan McAlister officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Larry Roberts, Christopher Vila, Michael Colwell, Bobby Jack Stewart, J.J. Vila, Rick Hollis, and Patrick Irwin. Lotus Irwin was born on July 3, 1936, in Moline, KS, to Alvin J. Ferguson and Pauline Dorman. At the age of 6 Lotus asked Christ into her life. Her family moved to Clovis with the railroad when she was 8 years old. She met her soul-mate, Henry Irwin, of 52 1/2 years, and married him in Clovis, NM on June 27, 1954. Lotus worked as a bookkeeper and was a member of Central Baptist Church in Clovis. Over the years she moved various places and was involved in different churches where she taught Sunday School, Girls Auxiliary, and Sunbeams. Lotus enjoyed sewing for her daughter and had a collection of over 300 elephants. Survivors include: a daughter; Jan (Kenny) Kinnaman of Amarillo, TX, a son; Jimmy (Miran) Irwin of Aurora, CO, 5 grandchildren; Kristina Kinnaman, Kendra (James) Mitchell, Patrick Irwin, Poyong Kim, and Gwenn Irwin, 7 great-grandchildren; J.J. Vila, Christopher Vila, Baily Colwell, Michael Colwell, Anthony Mitchell, Brandon Mitchell and Ilayah Mitchell, 2 sister-in-laws; Virginia Holland and Barbara Ferguson, 2 step-sisters; Peggy Lucas and Pam Wells, a cousin; Phyllis Burton, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by: her parents; Alvin and Pauline Ferguson, a step-mother; Lucille Ferguson, her husband; Henry Irwin, and a brother; Leonard Ferguson.
