Louis M. Vasquez, age 84, passed away suddenly at his home on Saturday, February 4, 2017. He was born on June 7, 1932 in El Paso, Texas to Leon A. Vasquez and Palmenia Haro and raised by his mother Maria Macias. Louis Mickey served in the United States Army during the Korean War. After serving, his love of cars led him to work for the City of El Paso until he retired. He loved spending time working and restoring cars, listening to music, and playing several musical instruments. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Dolores Vasquez, daughters: Sandie and Eva, sons: Federico and Michael, brothers: Raul and Guillermo. Mickey had 5 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Leonardo and Federico. Our father had the ability and pure genius to fix anything and everything. His wisdom, strength and guidance will be greatly missed. We will forever cherish those memories. Visitation will be from 5-9 pm with a Vigil/Rosary at 7 pm on Friday, February 10, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home 4631 Hondo Pass. Funeral Mass will be at 9:30 am on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Our Lady of Assumption 4805 Byron. Interment will follow at 11:00 am at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery on Dyer with Military Honors.
