Louise B. Lyon, 85, of San Diego, formerly of Wayzata, MN, passed away on August 10, 2009. Mrs. Lyon was born on August 17, 1923, in Superior, NE. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in English from Duschene College in Omaha, NE. Louise was married to William "Bill" Lyon on May 20, 1946. The couple later founded the Lyon Insurance Agency in Wayzata, MN, which they owned for 20 years before retiring and moving to Poway, CA, in 1986. While living in Minnesota, Mrs. Lyon was an organist at St. Therese Church in Deephaven. She is survived by daughter, Kathryn (Randall) Nelson of Long Lake, MN; son, James (Lisa) Lyon of Chanhassen, MN; daughters, Georgia Lyon of San Diego and Cynthia Lyon of Plymouth, MN; grandchildren, Eden Rocco (Justin) of Crystal, MN, and Asheley Nelson of St. Louis Park, MN, and fiancé, Scott Gurgel of Reedsburg, WI; and great-grandson, Myles Rocco of Crystal, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; brother, Phil Barber; grandson, PJ Lyon and his mother, Kathy Lyon, daughter-in-law. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 26, 2009, at San Rafael Catholic Church in Rancho Bernardo. The Committal will follow at 1:00 P.M. at Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego. The family requests that memorial contributions be made in Louise's name to the , 4950 Murphy Canyon Rd., Suite 250, San Diego, CA 92123.
