Hanners was born on October 18, 1914 in St. Joseph, MO and entered heaven's rest June 2, 2016 in Meridian, ID.Louise was always friendly and outgoing with a cheerful smile. She was a believer in Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and served for many years as Sunday school teacher, choir director, pianist, soloist and mentor to many people. She also taught 3rd and 5th grades at Brethren Elementary School in Norwalk, CA. After high school in Inglewood, CA and graduation from college she married her beloved Don Hanners on September 6, 1942. They were married for 37 years and enjoyed traveling, serving faithfully in their local church and time at their desert "oasis" near Apple Valley, CA.Upon Don's death in 1979 she maintained their home in Lynnwood, CA until moving to Meridian, ID in the summer of 2004 so she could be closer to her son and daughter-in-law.Louise became an active participant at the Meridian Senior Center, meeting many new friends. Her neighbors, Tom and Brenda Fischer, very kind and lovingly kept a close eye on her. She remained in her Meridian home until health issues necessitated her moving to the Spring Creek Assisted Living Community. Once again she engaged new friends and loved the "bingo" and card games and frequent field trips. She loved playing the piano and could be heard playing old favorites after lunch and before her nap.Louise is survived by her son, Gary (Charlene) Hanners along with numerous nephews and nieces.A graveside service will be held at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whitter, CA on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 1:00 PM. Local arrangements are under the direction of Accent Funeral Home, Meridian. Remembrances may be left for the family at www.AccentFuneral.comMemorial contributions may be made to the Treasure Valley Bible Church, Boise and the Meridian Senior Center. A special thank you to Louise's longtime friends in Arkansas, the Hemphill clan and the staff at Spring Creek and First Choice Hospice for all of their tender, loving care and support.
