Louise A. JenkinsYORKLouise (Akehurst) Jenkins, 87, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Misericordia Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Wilbur L. Jenkins.A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. A visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. Saturday at the Funeral Home.Mrs. Jenkins was born on March 3, 1930 in Baltimore, MD to the late Edgar and Louise (Mason) Akehurst. As a young adult, Louise worked at Hutzler's Department Store in MD. She had also been a substitute teacher at Baltimore Highlands Elementary School. Mrs. Jenkins was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Bon-Air Country Club. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and family, traveling, caring for her home and gardens, and celebrating all of the holidays.Mrs. Jenkins is survived by a son, James W. Jenkins, II and wife, Kerri of Glen Allen, VA; two daughters, Wendy Gnidziejko Hill and husband, Jim Hill and Cynthia J. Warner both of Airville; seven grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren.
