Lowell Byron DeBuskLowell Byron DeBusk, 91, of Springfield, MO, passed away on March 1, 2017. Lowell was born on August 26, 1925 in Pearson, AR. He went to Quitman AR High School and University of Central Arkansas and University of Arkansas. He joined the
US Navy and was in WWII and
Korean Conflict. After serving his time in the military, Lowell taught in the Springfield Public Schools, Vo-Tech and Drury University. He retired in 1990 after 37 years. He also worked at the Springfield Parks and Recreation (Summer Park Program). Lowell married Wilda M. Anthony on August 3, 1946, in Guy, AR. Lowell and Wilda were charter members of Sunset Church of Christ.Lowell was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Lennie (Kennedy) DeBusk and his wife Wilda. He is survived by his children, Linda DeBusk, Deborah and (Billy) Blalock. Two grandchildren, Jessica and (John) Anderson, Julia Pearson and (fiancé)Larry Roller. Great-grandchildren, Colton Thomas Anderson; Owen Pete Anderson; Caleb James Roller. Also surviving him are a sister, Elaine DeBusk Ratliff and nephews, Alan Ratliff and David Ratliff. Close friend and cousin Wayne Moore, a large variety of teachers, other school personnel and students. He also was a member of Antioch Church of Christ.Visitation will be on Sunday, March 5, 2017, at Greenlawn Funeral Home South from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Services will be on Monday March 6, 2017, at Sunset Church of Christ at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Missouri Veterans Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Fair Haven Children's Home, 3132 N.
