De Greef, Lowell E.Lowell E. De Greef, 72, Howard, passed away unexpectedly on August 25, 2017. The son of the late Alvin and Viola (Leiterman) De Greef was born on April 15, 1945. He married Sharyl (Recla) De Greef on September 9, 1993. He owned and operated many things throughout the years including, Victoria House (from 1976-1990), New Horizons Health Club, Timeout Sports Bar, and Sha Booms (until 2012). In 2013, he started working at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and School in Howard. Lowell was also a personal trainer. He enjoyed off road racing for 10 years, he loved to go boating, and enjoyed working out at the health club. He is survived by his wife, Sharyl; two sons: Randall (Lisa) De Greef; Jeffrey De Greef; grandchildren: Chandler, Marina, Tyler, Jacob, and Dylan; sister, Carol Hockers; brother, Gary (Kristine) De Greef; brother-in-law, Donald Hying; mother-in-law, Nancy Clay; father-in-law, Robert Recla; sister-in-law, Melissa (Burnell) Smith; brother-in-law, Dino Recla; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Lowell was preceded in death by a sister, Celene Hying and a brother-in-law, Joseph Hockers.Family and friends may visit at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2597 Glendale Ave, one quarter mile east of the corner of Cardinal Ln. and Glendale Ave. in Howard, on Tuesday, September 5, from 10:00am until 12 Noon. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 12 Noon with Fr. John Bergstadt officiating. Cotter Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
