Smith EllisMadison, MSLoyce Smith Ellis, 90 passed away on July 11, 2017 at St. Catherine's Village in Madison, Mississippi. Visitation will be Friday, July 14th from 9-10 am at Parkway Funeral Home in Ridgeland, Mississippi followed by a graveside service at 10:00 am. Loyce was born on February 11, 1927 in Blaine Mississippi to Myrtle Tackett and Harmon Huntley Smith. She graduated from Indianola High School. On November 1st, 1946, She married her sweetheart Jeff Ellis. In 1951 they moved to Alexandria, Louisiana and lived there for 18 years. In 1969, Jeff and Loyce moved to Jackson Mississippi. They opened up a salvage store known as Fire Sale Store. As the variety of merchandise changed the name was changed to Merchandise Warehouse. Many years later the store was sold. Loyce was a long time member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church and also attended Colonial Heights Baptist Church. For many years, Loyce was a member of the Jackson Symphony League, Federation Women's Club (Asgard); Childrens Theater; Continental Luncheon Club and various bridge clubs. She was always so generous to open up her home for church, social and charitable gatherings. Loyce is survived by her son, Frankie Ellis (Sarah), and daughter Kaye Donald (George), and her sister Clarice Pittman. She is also survived by grandchildren Kimberly (Andy) Krakowski, Missy (Ken) Wilson, Jennifer (Kevin) Kefgen, Stephen (Amanda) Houck, Jeffery Ellis, Rebekah (Josh) Turner, Cole Ellis, Travis (Laura) Donald, and Taylor Donald. She is also survived by great grandchildren. Jackson Krakowski, Lily Walker Krakowski, Trip Wilson, Mia Wilson, Summer Wilson, Brody Wilson, John Turner Houck, Emma Houck, Sam Houck, Avery Turner and Laney Kate Turner. Loyce was preceded in death by her parents; her husband (Jeff), sons Lange and Jimmy, and her daughter Charlotte Houck. Also, brothers John Smith, Hayes Smith, and Horace Smith. Sisters; Charlene Nolte and Faye Rasch. The family would like to thank all the staff at St. Catherines Village (Siena) We would also like to thank Kelly Ingebretsen with Kindred Hospice.
