FORT WAYNE — LuAnn Marie Kennerk, 80 years old, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2015, at Parkview Hospital Randallia. She was born on Monday, Aug. 12, 1935, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the daughter of the late Luke Brames and the late Elsie (Fry) Giant. She married Robert D. Kennerk on Aug. 18, 1956, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Monroeville and he preceded her in death on May 27, 1988. LuAnn was a member of St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church. She served on the committee for the church restoration and was active in the Rosary Sodality. She also volunteered for many fundraising events at the church. LuAnn was a longtime secretary for the Do Better Homemakers Club. The joys of her life were her husband, children, and grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving caregiver to many family members and those in need around her, always putting others first. LuAnn also loved music and singing. She had a passion for sharing family heritage, history, and pictures with many. LuAnn was a homemaker and had worked for the Allen County Farm Service Agency and Maples Farm Service. She was also active with the family farm. Surviving are her daughter, Karen (John) Bauman of Monroeville; daughter, Kathleen (Wayne) Rorick of Avilla; nine grandchildren, Joseph (Brittany) Bauman, Jacqueline (Troy) Haugk, Kaitlyn (Chase) Tharp, Angelyn Bauman, Jessica (Jesse) Lommatzsch, Elaine (fiancé, Mitch Guthier) Rorick, Nichole Rorick, Rebecka Rorick and Emily Rorick; four great-grandchildren, Hunter, Tanna, Isaac Bauman and Amber Haugk; and a niece, Mary Kaye (Stephen) Federspiel of Huntertown. Also preceding LuAnn in death were a granddaughter, Carolyn Bauman, and brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Pauline Giant. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 26, 2015, at St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church with Father Stephen Colchin officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Louis Besancon Catholic Cemetery. Friends will be received from noon to 3 p.m. and 4:30-7 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 25, in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, in Monroeville and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. A Rosary will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to Masses to the church; Bishop Dwenger Show Choir; or Bishop Luers Show Choir.
