SIDNEY — Lucian "Luke" Napier, 79, of Sidney, passed away at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016, at St. Rita's Medical Center. He was born on July 24, 1937, in Dunlow, West Virginia, the son of the late John and Georgia Napier.
On April 19, 1957, he married the former Joyce Hughes and she survives in Sidney along with 3 daughters; Brenda (Mike) Shepherd of Sidney, Tina (Jim) Jess of Lockington, and Sheila Ryan of Acworth, Georgia; seven grandchildren Jaime (Chuck) Allen, Adam Shepherd, Kristy (Andy) Long, Kevin Jess, Ashley (Cory) Needham, David Ryan and Jodie Ryan; 12 great-grandchildren; special niece, Gina Napier; one brother, Andrew Napier of Vero Beach, Florida; and one sister, Polly Davis of Kiahsville, West Virginia. Luke was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Mr. Napier had worked at Miami Industries/ Copperweld. He really enjoyed NASCAR and his favorite driver was Bill Elliott. He was a member of Crossroads Church of God in Piqua. Most of all, Luke loved his family and shared many precious memories with them.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 28, 2016, at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home 302 S. Main Ave., Sidney with Pastor Jerry Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 1-3 p.m.
