Lucien Edmund ("Doc") Perreault, Jr.MelbourneLucien Edmund ("Doc") Perreault, Jr., 92, of Melbourne, Florida, died in Melbourne on May 24, 2016 of respiratory failure. Lucien was born on November 18, 1923 to the late Lucien Edmund Perreault, Sr. and Alice Tessier Perreault in Bristol, Connecticut. He spent most of his childhood years with his parents and older sister Beatrice in Waterbury, Connecticut, graduating from Crosby High School in 1941. He then attended Holy Cross College in Worcester, Massachusetts for one year, before entering the United States Army on February 17, 1943. After basic infantry training, he pursued his passion for aviation, entering the Aviation Cadet program in April 1943. He and the late Katherine Mary Day, also of Waterbury, were married in 1943. He was commissioned as an officer in the Army Air Force on September 8, 1944 and served as a pilot instructor until being discharged on October 13, 1945. He was subsequently commissioned as an officer in the newly established U.S. Air Force in 1947, where he served in assignments all over the world until his retirement as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1967. Thereafter he relocated to Brevard County, Florida, engaging in various business endeavors. Lucien and Margot Lischke Diamond were married on May 6, 2000 in Melbourne. Lucien is survived by his beloved wife, Margot, of Melbourne, daughter Judith Rehfus, also of Melbourne, son Michael of Eastanollee, Georgia and son Mark of Norfolk, Virginia, along with six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on May 24, 2017 at Calvary Cemetery, 2324 East Main Street, Waterbury, Connecticut. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the , 55 W. Wacker Drive, Suite 1150, Chicago, IL 60601 in Lucien's name.
