LUCILLE EBERLE SERVATIUS MILLER, 92 FREEPORT - Lucille Eberle Servatius Miller, 92, of Freeport, died, Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Parkview Home. Lucille was born on August 5, 1922, in Freeport, the daughter to Robert and Frances (Boos) Eberle. She attended St. Joseph Elementary School and graduated for Aquin High School in 1940. She worked from 1940 until 1946 for Woodmanse Company in Freeport. On January 12, 1946 she married Richard Servatius at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Freeport. Richard died on August 19, 1965. On October 17, 1970 she married Frank Miller of Rockford, Illinois. He died on October 15, 2007. Lucille and Richard had five children: Richard M. Servatius of Aurora, Nicholas R. Servatius, Susan A. (Charles) Schlosser of Weston, Wisconsin, David J. (Julie) Servatius of Lena, and James F. Servatius. Lucille managed the Servatius family business, Modern Plating Corp., after Richard's death in 1965. She served on the Board of Directors and was President from 1965 until her retirement in 1985. While attending St. Thomas Catholic Church she was a volunteer for parish events and served on various committees within the parish. She also was involved in the education of her children and the special education program in Stephenson County when it was initiated, as well as the Freeport Sheltered Workshop. She enjoyed reading, movies, and boating and fishing at Lake Carroll and Lido Beach, Sarasota, FL. with family and friends. Her faith, family and friends were the most important parts of her life. Lucille strongly supported Bethesda Lutheran Home in Watertown, WI and Aurora, IL because of the devoted care, guidance, and education that her son Richard has received through this fine community. She held high esteem for her son's caregivers Lois Diercks and JoAnn Hanson, and supporting staff. Lucille is survived by three children, Richard M. Servatius of Aurora, Susan A. (Charles) Schlosser of Weston, WI, and David A. (Julie) Servatius of Lena; grandchildren: Heather (Tracy) Darbonne of Borger, TX, Scott (Teresa) Servatius of Menasha, WI, Peter (Bridget) Servatius of Freeport, Amy Servatius of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Steven (Melissa) Schlosser of Dunbar, WI, Diana (Joseph) Maier of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, Andrew Smith of Houston, TX, and Brandon (Megan) Smith of Lena, IL; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Hunter Darbonne, Jack Servatius, Lulu Fernandez, Emma Smith, Nora Ann Schlosser. Lucille is additionally survived by brother, William (Bernie) Eberle of Lake Carroll, IL; brother-in-law, Ralph Platt of Rockford; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, two sons, Nicholas R. Servatius and James F. Servatius; brother, Robert Eberle; sister-in-law, Helen Eberle and Eleanor (Leonard) Boegel and Florence Platt. The family wishes to thank her caregiver and friend, Sandi Tyrell, for her support and special care these past few years. We thank friends and family who visited her frequently. And, we thank the staff of Parkview Home for their kindness and assistance these past few years where she was a resident of independent living, and most recently the Health Center. Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Friday, February 6, 2015 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, with the Rev. Kenneth Anderson, pastor, officiating. Visitation will be Thursday 4 to 7 p.m. at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. There will also be a visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday at St. Thomas.
