KANSASVILLE - Lucille Blossom (Nee: Walters) Petersen, 91, passed away at Geneva Lake Manor Nursing Home in Lake Geneva, WI, on Wednesday, April 25, 2012. Lucille was born on July 3, 1920, in Vernon County, WI, the second child and only daughter of Louis Walters and Anna (Brandt) Walters. She attended grade school on Nottingham Ridge followed by high school in Viroqua, WI. On April 24, 1939, in Vernon County (Purdy Valley), WI, at the home of her parents, she married Arne O. Petersen of Chetek, WI. They were married for 48 years. Arne passed away on October 13, 1987. Three children were born to the Petersens and they survive her. They are Louise (Don) Christy, Barbara (the late J.L.) Brown, and Bradley (Donna) Petersen. Also surviving her are 6 grandsons, one granddaughter, and two great-granddaughters. A brother, Freeman (Hazel) Walters, nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive her. Her older brother, Herbert Henry Walters, died as an infant and her youngest brother, Vernon Walters, passed away in July 1987. Lucille was employed by the State of Wisconsin at Southern Wisconsin Center at Union Grove, WI, as a food service worker. She retired following 25 years of service. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, Burlington, WI. Inurnment of remains will be at Burlington Cemetery, Burlington, WI.
