Lucy "Lou" Drew TarrRedding, CA1940 - 2017Beloved wife, mother and sister, Lou passed away on August 29, 2017, in Carlsbad, CA. Lou was born on March 28, 1940 in Montreal, Canada. She was the third child of James Narraway and Lucy French Crandall. Lou's brothers, Charles Colby and David Matheson, have preceded her in death.Lou married William Kinney on January 16, 1963 in Yosemite, CA. They had two beautiful daughters, Lucy and Jessie. The family moved to Central Valley, CA, in 1972. Lou worked for the Shasta Lake School district until 1990, first as a classroom aide and then librarian at Deer Creek Elementary. Lou transferred to Central Valley Intermediate and helped facilitate the first computer lab there.On March 31, 1984 Lou married William "Bill" Tarr. They were lucky enough to travel and enjoy each other until his passing on November 2, 2002. Lou enjoyed being a stepmother to Bill's three children: Frank, Ida and Scott. She was also blessed with and thoroughly enjoyed seven grand children: Chelsea, Kylie, Cole, Tanner, Jillian, Daniel and Sachiko. Lou was fortunate enough to have wonderful friends in her life and not a day went by without one of them coming over to her house for a cup of tea and a chitchat or a game of cards. Lou was graced by three important friendships fondly known as the Canoe Crew: Olenda, Joyce and Dee. Together they supported each other personally and with their careers and their families. Lou's paddle will be missed, but she will be forever in their hearts. Lou loved having family and friends over to her house; her home was open to everyone. Whether it was for barbecues and parties by the pool or singing groups gathering around her piano, Lou loved the camaraderie. Lou will be deeply missed but forever remembered. Services will be at First United Methodist Church on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation.
