Luella Catherine JohnsonAugust 6, 1949 - February 9, 2016Luella Catherine Johnson, 66, passed away on February 9, 2016 at Quinn Meadows in Pocatello, Idaho of brain cancer. She was born on August 6, 1949 to Louis and Esther Ames in Pocatello, Idaho. She was the fourth of six children. She attended Highland High School. She married Larry Johnson on December 13, 1969. They were sealed in the Ogden Utah Temple on December 13, 1978.Luella was a stay-at-home mom of 3 children, who loved caring for her family and the neighborhood kids. She later spent most of her days watching and caring for her grandchildren. She was hardly ever seen without a grandchild or two in tow. Luella was active in her church. She served in many callings; her favorite was being a visiting teacher because she loved to serve quietly.Luella liked to relax by watching old movies or playing solitaire on her computer. She loved playing games with her family and reading. Her favorite place was the beach. Supporting her children and grandchildren with their activities was her first priority. Luella was known by many names-Sweetie, Mom, Aunt Walla, and Grammie. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her and loved her.Luella is survived by Larry Johnson, her husband of 46 years; Daughters, Wendy Baker; Cheryl Wegrowski (Michael); son, Mike Johnson (Charity); 12 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Frances Line and Brenda Kuntz; and brothers, Dennis Jones and Brent Ames.Luella is preceded in death by her father, Louis Ames; her mother, Esther Craig; and her brother, Randy Jones.A viewing will be held on Friday, February 12, 2016 from 6-8 pm at Colonial Funeral Home 2005 S. 4th Ave. Pocatello, Idaho 83201, 208-233-1500.
