LuFreda BowmanHAGERSTOWN, Ind. - LuFreda Bowman, age 102, formerly of Hagerstown, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2011, at Heritage House of Richmond.She was born on Aug. 16, 1908, in Greens Fork, Ind., to Clarence and Della Rinehart Nicholson and had lived most of her life in the Wayne County area.She was a member of Nettle Creek Church of the Brethren in Hagerstown. She attended school until her sophomore year then left school to work as a mid-wife. LuFreda loved embroidery, reading, gardening and spending time with family and friends.Survivors are a granddaughter, Amy (Bart) Meyer and their children Brandon and Kayla; a grandson, Brad (Beth) Bowman and their son Chad; special nephews, Howard Nicholson and Ralph and Don Thalls; a sister-in-law, Dion Nicholson; and several other nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2011, at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City with Pastor Paula Ulrich officiating. Burial will follow in Brick Cemetery in Hagerstown. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until start of service at 2 p.m.She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Bowman in 1976; a son, Arden L.
