Lydia M. Benavidez, 56, a resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Monday, Aug. 1, 2016, at Christus St. Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe.She was born on Feb. 29, 1960 to Abelino Duran and Estefanita Lucero Duran in Las Vegas.She was a self-employed caterer. Lydia loved cooking, sewing and spending time with her grandson, Andres. A Catholic, she was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.She was preceded in death by her father, Abelino Duran; brothers, Eddie Lucero and Abelino C. Duran.She is survived by her mother, Estefanita Duran; daughter, Sonya Jaramillo and husband, Gilbert, of Las Vegas; son, Estevan Benavidez and wife, Estrella Romero, of Las Vegas; father of her children, Chris Benavidez of Las Vegas; grandson, Andres Benavidez of Las Vegas; special friend, Kenneth Abeyta of Las Vegas; brothers, Ernesto Duran and wife, Priscilla, Juan Duran, Manuel Duran and wife, Mary Agnes, all of Las Vegas; special niece, Danelle Mutangana and husband, Nicholas, of Las Vegas; nephews, Ernesto M. Duran and wife, Evelyn, of Albuquerque, John Edward Duran, Ernesto Duran and LeAnn Pino and children, all of Las Vegas; niece, Margaret Hidalgo and husband, Mark, of Las Vegas; numerous other relatives and friends.Rosary service will be held at 8 a.m. on Thursday at Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas.
