Lynn E. Thomson1935 - 2014Lynn E. Thomson, 78, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, at his residence.He was born on July 3, 1935, to the late William B. and Ethel Mae (Whitson) Thomson in Guenther, Wis. He was educated in the schools of Stevens Point.Lynn entered the US Army on Jan. 13, 1955. He was a combat engineer and was honorably discharged on March 21, 1957. He then served in the Army Reserves until Jan. 12, 1963.On July 28, 1962, he married Ruth E. Walport in Stevens Point.Lynn worked at AMC/Chrysler for 30 years, retiring as a master mechanic on Dec. 31, 1988. He and his friends from work built the torch for the 1976 Special Olympics. After retiring Lynn worked at IPPC in Lake Forest for 10 years.Lynn was a member of St. Anthonys Catholic Church.He was a Cub Scout Leader at Harvey Elementary when his children where young and he was also involved with the Orchestra Boosters. He enjoyed being a member of the SNO Blazers in Kenosha County, a member of the Ke-nash-a Club, a member of the Landlords Association, a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and a lifetime member of the Craftsmans Club of America. Lynn enjoyed bowling, hunting, camping, carpentry and auto mechanical work. Lynn was a jack-of-all-trades, being able to fix just about anything.Lynn is survived by his loving wife Ruth; his children, Diane (Ronald) Weber of Kenosha and Chetek and Keith (Linda) Thomson of Kenosha; his granddaughter, Kallie Ann Thomson; and his siblings, Claire Thomson of Anchorage, Alaska, Mary Cowen of Wasilla, Alaska and Chris (Charlotte) Thomson of Eagle River.His brothers Rae, Jimmy and Robert precede him in death.A Memorial Mass for Lynn will be held on Saturday, Jan. 18 at 12 (Noon) at St. Anthonys Catholic Church (5100 22nd Ave.). Full Military Honors will follow Mass.
