DALLASTOWN M. Edward Shue, Jr., 82, passed away peacefully at the York Hospital on Monday, September 28. He was the beloved husband of Dixie L. (Dehoff) Shue for 60 years. Mr. Shue was born on May 29, 1933, in Bedford, Ohio and was the son of the late Mervin E. Shue and Jessie M. (Boughter) Papp. Ed worked as a purchasing agent for 35 years for the Olin Corporation, retiring in 1995. He was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church in Dallastown where he was a former council member, Sunday school teacher, and sang in the choir. He also served on the church finance and auditing committees. He was a member and former president and treasurer of the Dallastown Lions Club, and belonged to the Golden Agers, where he sang in the chorus and organized bus trips for a number of years. Above all things, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children, Michael David Shue, Bret Edward Shue and his wife Melinda, and Lisa Ann Bush and her husband Kevin. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Colby Shue, Zachary Shue (Brynne), Logan Shue, William Blymire (Maria), Jason Blymire, Benjamin Blymire (Ashley) and Brandon Blymire; great-grandchildren, Laurel, Cassie, Charley, Ellie, Aslynn and Laylah; as well as his siblings, John Shue, Nancy Rueschman, Jeffrey Shue, and Rose Simmons. He was preceded in death by a sister, Marty Lou Strasbaugh. A funeral service to honor Ed's life will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, October 2, at Christ Lutheran Church, 126 W. Main St., Dallastown, PA, with the Rev. Lawrence Cunnings officiating. A viewing will will take place on Thursday, October 1 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, 104 W. Main St., Dallastown, and then again at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
