It is with sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of M. Eileen Lonergan on November 18, 2023. Born on January 14, 1969, Eileen was a person of great intelligence, warmth, fun, kindness and compassion that infused her life and relationships.
Throughout her life, Eileen held many passions. A keen enthusiast of science fiction and fantasy genre, Eileen had an extensive collection of novels and found great joy in the exploration of distant futuristic worlds and realities through written word. Her love for theater and drama didn't go unnoticed, as she enthusiastically participated and studied theater in high school and college. She loved the color purple which is a symbol for creativity and intelligence. To her purple was a lifestyle choice, not just a color. She loved traveling, road trips, quality chocolate, bowling, crafting, pumpkin pie, and in her younger days going out dancing almost every weekend.
She moved to Seattle in the early 90's and made friends that became like family to her. She lived the server/waitress life for a bit working at Salty's and Winner's where memories were made and fun was had.
Besides her intellectual pursuits, Eileen loved being in nature. She enjoyed hiking and camping in the mountains of Washington, using the time for reflection and also being with friends around the fire making memories and being a good listener to anyone who needed to talk.
Eileen's compassion wasn't limited to people. She had a deep love for her precious feline companions - George, Calla, Asher, and Nosca, who she considered part of her family. Her dedication and unwavering affection for them embodied the compassionate spirit that defined Eileen.
Among the many milestones in her life, Eileen took great pride in her graduation from Nursing School, a testament to her intelligence and dedication. She was always ready to lend a helping hand, and her compassion was genuine.
