M. Iilene Hornbaker, 100Montpelier - M. Iilene Hornbaker, 100, of Montpelier, IN, passed away at 12:10 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Heritage Pointe in Warren, IN. She was born on Monday, November 27, 1916, in Montpelier, IN.She married Paul L. Hornbaker on Saturday, February 16, 1935 in Hartford City, IN. She had been a resident at Heritage Pointe since May 2011. M. Iilene was a 1934 graduate of Montpelier High School. She worked and retired from Sheller Globe in Montpelier where she worked in the payroll department. Iilene was a lifetime member of Pleasantdale U.M. Church in Montpelier. She taught Sunday school and was a member of the Women's group. She was very involved with the schools and had housed exchange students. Iilene was an avid Blackford County High School Athletic supporter, especially football. She was Past President for the Montpelier Senior Citizens. She had always been a hard worker. Above all she loved her family and church, and will surely be remembered by her quick sense of humor that she had up until her last days.Loving survivors include: Son - Wallace P. Hornbaker, Clermont, FL, Son in Law - Arthur Wade (Nancy) Carnes, Montpelier, IN, Grandchildren - Lynn (Rick) Hughes, Steve Carnes, Denise (Dale) Price, David (Cindy) Hornbaker, Sueanne Carnes, and 10 Great Grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her Father - Charley H. Schwarzkopf, Mother - Effie May (Hiser) Schwarzkopf, Husband - Paul L. Hornbaker, Daughter - Nancy Hornbaker Carnes, Daughter-In-Law, Ruth (Ayers) Hornbaker, Sisters - Katherine McDonald, Thelma Reff, Alma Bell, Mary Dull, Brothers - Robert Schwarzkopf, and Cecil Schwarzkopf.Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home, 109 W Windsor St., Montpelier on Sunday, March 19, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.A service to celebrate her life will be at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 20, 2017 with the Pastor Dick Case officiating.
