On January 6, 2025, Texas lost one of its most beloved residents, Mabel Simons, who passed away at the age of 74. She was born on March 12, 1950 in West Virginia and brought joy to all who knew her.

Mabel lived a fulfilling life, dedicating herself to her studies at a private Bible high school and continuing on to Texas University to further her education. She eventually found her calling at the Texas Church of God, where she worked tirelessly until her retirement in 2025.

One of Mabel's greatest joys in life was helping others. Whether it was lending a listening ear or offering a helping hand, she was always there for those in need. Her selflessness and kindness touched the lives of many and will never be forgotten.

Though Mabel had no children of her own, she created a legacy of love and compassion that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with her.
