Major Nelson, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2025, in his home in McAllen, Texas, United States. He was born on May 22, 1947, to James Travis Nelson and Lida Carter Nelson.
Major Nelson married the love of his life, Linda Ann Nelson, in 1973. Together, they raised their son, Jared Edward Nelson. Major Nelson adored his family and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Major Nelson attended Jackson High School, where he graduated in 1965. He continued his studies at SMU, where he excelled academically and pursued his passion for learning.
Major Nelson had many hobbies that brought him joy and fulfillment. He enjoyed flying, spending time as a HAM Radio operator, and fly fishing. These activities allowed him to connect with his passions and create lasting memories.
Major Nelson's legacy will live on through his family and the memories they shared. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
