Manuel Flores Cancio, 79, passed away Monday, April 22, 2013. He was born on July 21, 1933, in Yuma. Manuel was employed with Associated Citrus Packers for over 30 years and served in the U.S. Army. He was an active member of the American Legion Post 802. He was a member of the Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing cards games, word puzzles, gardening, football, and was an Arizona Cardinals Fan. Manuel was survived by his sister, Erinistein "Tina" Perez; wife, Bernabe Cancio; daughter, Maria Calzada; sons, Gabriel Cancio and Jessie Beight. He also leaves behind his 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Maria Flores; father, Pedro Cancio, as well as 2 sisters, and 5 brothers. Visitation will be held at Desert Valley Mortuary on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, from 5:00pm to 10:00pm, with a Rosary at 6:30pm. A mass is scheduled at 10:00am Thursday, May 2, 2013, at Immaculate Conception Church. Pallbearers will be Lonnie Gilmore, Gabriel Cancio, Jessie Cancio Jr., Frank Perez, Gabe M. Cancio, Gilbert Gonzalez, Peter Gonzalez, Tony Morales, Lavern Gilmore Jr., Mario Vasquez, Jorge Perez, and Ray Perez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Lonnie Gilmore Jr., Jimmy Calzada, Patrick McCormick, and Jessie Beight.
