Manuel S. HernandezBig LakeManuel S. Hernandez, 74, of Big Lake, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 24, 2016 at his residence. Manuel was born on March 13, 1942 to Dario and Trinidad (Salgado) Hernandez in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico. On Aug. 5, 1964, he married Gloria Rey in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico. Manuel and Gloria have lived in Big Lake since 1979. He worked for Pool Well Service from 1979 until his retirement in 1995. After his retirement, he became a local town fixture where everyone in Big Lake knew and loved being around Manuel. Manuel will be deeply missed by all those whose lives he has touched in a special way. Manuel is survived by his loving spouse of 52 years, Gloria, four sons, Dario (Araceli) Hernandez, Omar (Aurelia) Hernandez, Ricardo (Cyndi) Hernandez, Humberto Hernandez; two daughters, Olivia (Juan) Garcia all of Big Lake, Nereida (Eduardo) Morales of San Angelo; two brothers, Zacarias (Carmen) Hernandez of Odessa, Alonzo (Gloria) Hernandez of Presidio; two sisters, Graciela Gonzales of Big Lake and Hilda Carrasco of Midland; seventeen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, Dario and Trinidad (Salgado) Hernandez, sons, Arnaldo Hernandez and Manuel Hernandez, Jr.Viewing is at 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel.Rosary service is at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel.Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Noon on Monday, Nov. 28, 2016 at St. Margaret's Catholic Church of Big Lake.Mass service will start at 12 p.m. Noon on Monday, Nov. 28, 2016, 12 p.m. at the St. Margaret's Catholic Church of Big Lake with Father Prem Thumma, officiating.
