Manuela "Mela" Mesa Casas1925-2016Manuela "Mela" Mesa Casas, 91, of Pasadena, TX passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2016. Mela went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and join the love of her life and husband of 68 years, David Garcia Casas. Mela had great faith in the Lord and prayed the Lord's Prayer nightly. She was born on June 2, 1925 in Austin, TX to Melchor and Louisa Reyes Mesa.She is preceded in death by her sons, Richard Mesa Casas and Albert Mesa Casas. Mela is survived by her 8 children, Mary Martin, Dolores Juarez, Connie Carrillo, David Casas, Jr, Linda Cordova, Becky Ayala, Hazel Waters and Ray Casas; 23 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; 24 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Gilbert Mesa and sister, Eloisa Mesa Rodriguez.She was an awesome homemaker, raising 10 children and was known as "mama Casas" to many others who loved her nurturing ways. She is remembered for her great humor and delicious food. Some voids cannot be filled. We miss you Mama. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, TX 77598 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 17, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Forest Park East Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.
