MARCIA MAE CLARK, 87 DURAND - Marcia Mae Clark, 87, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 2, 2013, at her home on the farm in Durand, Ill., where she and Truman raised their 4 children, Phyllis, Dale, Diane and George. Marcia was born on October 24, 1926, in Rockford Ill., to parents, George and DeEtte Johns. Marcia was 1 of 6 children. She grew up a farm girl and graduated from West High School in 1945. On March 6, 1949, Marcia married her love, Truman Clark. Marcia loved and lived the farm life with Truman and her children. She was a member of the choir at Durand United Methodist Church where her vocals soared, not to mention the many times she would break out into song just in conversation. She was involved with Eastern Star and Jolly 31. She also had fun with her bowling league back in the day. Most of all, Marcia loved her family. She would always say "Be sure to take good care of your family." Survivors include her children, Phyllis Clark, Dale (Margaret) Clark, Diane (John) Harris and George Clark; grandchildren, Renee Squires, Emilie (Jon) Traynere, Dayna (Patrick) Carlson, Adam Clark and Amber Clark; great-grandchildren, Shawn and Lauren Squires and Tristin Carlson; brothers, Daniel and David Johns. Predeceased by parents, George and DeEtte( Folsom) Johns; husband, Truman Clark; brother, Drewer Johns; and sisters, Shirley and Phyllis Arne. Funeral ceremony to be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 7, 2013, in McCorkle Funeral Home, 101 Main St., Durand, IL, with Reverend Brian Channel of the Durand United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Durand Township Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. to time of ceremony Saturday. Memorials may be sent to VNA Hospice, 4223 E.
