Mark Vea, 57, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2011 at Fort Hood, Texas. He was born on June 22, 1954 in Watsonville, California and raised in Somerton, Arizona. He graduated from Kofa High School in 1972. Shortly after, Mark enlisted in the U.S. Army and retired as a Staff Sergeant after serving for twenty four years. Mark is survived by his son, Donald Harris of Virginia; mother, Paula Alvarez Vea of Somerton; sisters, Josie Cimatu and Teresa (Frank) Garcia both of Yuma, JoAnn Garcia (Ted Cruz), Belinda Vea (Scot Butler), Cecilia Vea all of Phoenix, and Frances (Bobby) Robinson of Las Vegas, Nevada, as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Tomas Vea; wife, Carol Vea. Mark will be laid to rest at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas on Monday, December 5, 2011.
