PLEASANT PRAIRIE - Mardelle A. Baumeister, 84, of Pleasant Prairie passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at St. Catherines Hospital with her family by her side. Mardelle was born on November 29, 1929 the middle child of three girls, in Rochester, WI to John and Elsie Mum (Miller) Lehman. She attended schools in Rochester and graduated from the Rochester Ag School and in her younger years she worked for Mars Cheese Castle, T & L Café and the Doughnut Hole. Mardelle married Gerhard Baumeister in Waterford. After Gerhards retirement the couple enjoyed working together at Great America every summer. They also enjoyed traveling, especially to Hawaii and to Tennessee to visit friends. Mardelle liked doing word search puzzles, bingo and crocheting Afghans and scarves for her family and friends. She was a longtime member of Alanon. She loved her cats, especially her favorite Spike but her greatest joy was the time she spent with her family. She was preceded in death by,her parents; her husband, Gerhard; two sisters, Joan Baumeister and Beatrice McClellan and her great grandson, Shawn Baumeister. Mardelle is survived by, six children, Paul (Roberta) Baumeister Sr. of Kenosha, Deborah (and her late companion, Stan) Baker of Kenosha, Barbara Baumeister of Bristol, Sandra Jordan of Kenosha, Thomas Baumeister of Pleasant Prairie and Jane (Richard) Rosmann of Kenosha; 22 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren, her youngest being born on October 31; three great great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services for Mardelle will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at the Hansen-Lendman Funeral Home with interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. The family would like to offer their sincerest gratitude to the staff at Grande Prairie Nursing and Rehab. Especially to the activities department in which Mardelle enjoyed everything they had to offer. She met many new friends during her stay.
