Margaret "Peg" Evans (Shea) DeSanto, 91, of Madison, beloved wife of the late Dominic J. DeSanto, died peacefully on December 8, 2016 with her family by her side. Peg was born on June 15, 1925 in Springfield, MA and was the daughter of the late John and Margaret (Evans) Shea. She was a graduate of Cathedral High School and a member of the Our Lady of Hope Choir in Springfield, MA. Peg worked as an Administrative Assistant for many years with the State of Connecticut, and retired from the Department of Transportation. A devout Catholic, Peg was a parishioner of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Newington and member of the Ladies Guild. She volunteered her time to many organizations in town, including Friends in Service Helping (FISH) and the League of Women Voters. Peg was devoted to her family and all who knew her will fondly remember her storytelling and wonderful sense of humor. A devoted mother and grandmother, Peg will be missed by her daughter Joanne Iennaco and her husband John of Madison along with her son-in-law Darryl Marsan of MD and granddaughter Maria Margaret Iennaco. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Peg was predeceased by her daughter Mary Regina Marsan, sisters Helen Shea, Anne Hannon and her brother John Shea. Funeral services will begin at 9:00 am on Monday, December 12th from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 183 Church Street, Newington. Burial to follow at West Meadow Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the funeral chapel.
