YORK Margaret E. (Rennoll) Fuhrman, 87, formerly of Glen Rock, died Tuesday, November 18, 2014, at the home of her son. She was the wife of the late Henry E. Fuhrman, whom she married in 1945. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, November 24, 2014, at the Trinity United Church of Christ, 27 Manchester St., Glen Rock, with her pastor, the Rev. John Trout, and the Rev. Dr. Kevin Frain officiating. Viewings will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in Trinity U.C.C. Church Cemetery, Glen Rock. Mrs. Fuhrman was born on July 25, 1927, a daughter of the late W. Tell and Mabel R. (Newcomer) Rennoll. She lived most of her life in Glen Rock and graduated from Glen Rock High School in 1945. Margaret was a homemaker and had worked as a local
reporter for the York Dispatch and the York Sunday News. She was also employed by the former Gatehouse Realty and by Flowers by Jane. Margaret was a prolific poet and also enjoyed sewing, needlework, and was an artist painting with oils. She loved flowers, reading, and doing crossword puzzles. She was a lifetime member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Glen Rock, and also attended the Immanuel Evangelical Free Church in York. Margaret was a member of the Women's Club of Glen Rock, the Glen Rock Historical Preservation Society, and the Austin L. Grove American Legion Post 403 Ladies Auxiliary. She and her husband Henry were the recipients of the Post 403's Good Citizens Award. She leaves behind her son, Jerome E. "Jere" Fuhrman and his wife, Bonnie of York; a daughter, Jannette L. "Jan" Stein and her husband, Glenn "Dan" of York; three grandchildren, Matthew Stein, Amanda Stein, and Zachery Fuhrman; and a great-granddaughter, Rachel Stein. She also leaves four step grandchildren, and a son-in-law, Mike Missell of Prescott Valley, Ariz.. She was predeceased by her daughter, Jean Missell; two sisters, Rosina Measley and Sala Chapman; and a brother, Dale W. Rennoll.
