Margaret E. MooneyAGE: 83 • LakewoodMargaret (Margie) E. Mooney (nee Woods) was born on Feb. 22, 1933 in Jersey City and passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Nov. 28, 2016 in Lakewood. Margie was predeceased by her beloved husband of 61 years, Jim. She was also predeceased by her parents, Harold and Mary (Mangan) Woods, and her siblings, Maddy Grunwald, Howie Woods, Billy and Bobby Knapp. Margie retired from Monmouth County in 2002. Margie was proud to a member of The Women of Irish Heritage Jersey Shore and past member of the Matawan First Aid Ladies Auxiliary. Margie lived in Jersey City for many years, before moving to Matawan and then retiring to Whiting. Margie is also survived by her loving children, Margie (Butch) Ward, Lakewood, Jim (Peggy) Mooney, Lakewood, Bill (Haydee) Mooney, Texas, Mike Mooney, Long Branch, Ken (Lisa) Mooney, Hazlet, Tim Mooney, California, and Dan (Kristen) Mooney, Manahawkin. Margie loved spending time with her 18 grandchildren, Eddy (Connie) Ward, Tricia (Gerald) Ryan, Sean Ward, Jimmy (Jen) Mooney, Melissa (Chris) Mata, Meghan Mooney, Philip Mooney, Willie Mooney, Ilyssa Mooney, Sammy Mooney, Christopher Mooney, Cody Mooney, Jenna Mooney, Nicole Mooney, Daniel Mooney, Trevor Mooney, Kaitlyn Mooney and Patrick Mooney, Margie was adored by her 12 great grandchildren, Patrick, Erin, and Katie Ryan, Eddie Ward, Joshua Witko-Mooney, Christopher, Lana, Julia and Maelyn Mata, Jennessa Morgan, Austin Mooney, Zoe Mooney and was looking forward to the birth of another baby James in January. Margie will be sorely missed by her lifelong friend Ag and Tom Ebert, Joan Shaw, as well as the Knapp, Ryan, Russo, Woods, Ebert, Kitrick and Foley families. The family would like to thank the staff of Concord Healthcare who cared for Margie during her illness. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 3-7 pm at the D'Elia Funeral Home 1300 Vermont Ave. Lakewood, NJ 08701. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 10:30am at the St. Mary of the Lake Church in Lakewood. Interment will take place at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran's Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Margie's memory to the Ocean of Love, 1709 Route 37 East, Toms River, NJ 08753
