Margaret Ann FultzMargaret Ann Fultz, 92, of Lafayette, passed away October 28, 2015 at her residence. She was born on January 5, 1923 in Lafayette, Indiana to the late Dutch immigrants George and Gertrude (Plantenga) Hainje. She lived most of her life in Lafayette, including attending Klondike school. In her teenage years, while attending a church picnic, she tripped and fell at the feet of a young man named Ora Fultz. On February 11, 1943 she married Ora. After 68 years of marriage Ora preceded her in death in 2011. Margaret held many jobs in her life, but none as important as being a dedicated wife and mother of three children. She was a good neighbor and had many friends whom she met through many organizations; Cario Home Ec. Club, Pleasant Grove Grange, Bethel Church, Battle Ground United Methodist Church, Marine Corps League Auxiliary (50 yrs.) holding many local and state offices in the Auxiliary including President for 8 terms, and she worked at one time at the west side McDonald's and Walmart.Surviving are her children: Pat Smith (husband: Art) of Brookston, Don Fultz (wife: Patti) of West Lafayette, and Cindy Saling (husband: Ron) of Spokane, WA; a brother: Albert (wife: Lois) Hainje: sister-in-law; Beulah Hurst; 6 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a sister Kathryn Bylsma. A Private Burial will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Romney. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the Battle Ground United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. with services following at 2 p.m. with Reverend Terry Brammer officiating.Memorial contributions may be directed to the Battle Ground United Methodist Church.
