Margaret "Peggy" (Finan) ImmelMONROE, NC: Margaret "Peggy" (Finan) Immel of Monroe, NC, formerly of Zanesville died on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 peacefully at her home.She was born on November 20, 1932 in Zanesville, Ohio, daughter to John Finan and Catharine Reynolds Finan. Margaret was married for 52 years to Warren J. Immel. Peggy was a member of the last class to graduate from the old St. Thomas High School (1950) and attended St. Mary College at Notre Dame, Indiana. She lived in Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Connecticut prior to moving to North Carolina in 1999.Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and her three brothers, Patrick, Robert and Richard Finan. She is survived by her children, Mark Immel (Jackie), Pat Butterworth (Steven), Steve Immel (Cindy), Barb Page (Fred), Mary Jane Tomasic (Ray), Erin Hinnau and fiancé Curtis Young; 18 grandchildren; one great grandchild; and by her brother, Joseph Finan (Marlene).Margaret was a loving wife, mother, "Nan", and a dear friend to many. Margaret was an avid bridge player, and enjoyed knitting and quilting in her spare time. She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, where she was a Eucharistic Minister. Margaret was very committed to her faith, and her faith was an important part of her everyday life.A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, December 19, 2014 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Charlotte, NC.A prayer service will be held at 10:30am Monday, December 22nd St. Mary's Catholic Church, Nashport, OH with Fr. Don Franks officiating. Burial will follow in the Mattingly Settlement Cemetery adjacent to the church.
