Margaret L. King passed away Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Corning Center. Margaret had suffered for some time with several health problems. She was born on November 15, 1939 in Corning, NY to Helen and Joseph Chambers. She married Lorenzo King November 30, 1957 at the South Corning Methodist Church where she and Lorenzo were life-long members. She and Lorenzo lived in Caton their entire married lives. They were a devoted couple always together and Lorenzo spent much of every day by her side at the Center. Margaret was a homemaker primarily but later she worked for Corning Inc. retiring after 18 years of service. She loved staying at their cottage on Seneca Lake, boating and just relaxing. She leaves behind her husband of 59 years and their son Joseph King and his wife Elizabeth; grandchildren: BillieJoe King, Timothy King, Michael (Veronica) LaDieu, Nicholas (Shelby) LaDieu; great grandchildren: Justine and James King, Becka and Anthony LaDieu and Avery LaDieu; two siblings: Helen (Daniel) West and Francis (Linda) Chambers; sisters-in-law: Ada (Loren) Copp, Threda (Wayne) Copp; and brothers-in-law: Merlson (Carol) King and James (Patricia) King.In addition to her parents, Margaret was predeceased by two daughters: Peggy at her birth and Christine LaDieu who passed away at the age of 40 from juvenile diabetes; brother, Douglas and sisters: JoAnne Smith and Christine Watson. Friends and family are invited to call on Friday, November 25, 2016 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney St. Corning. A funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home at 4:00PM, Rev. Patrick Holder officiating.
