Margaret D. Matolek1920 - 2013Margaret D. Matolek, 92, of Kenosha, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Brookside Care Center. She was born on Oct. 4, 1920, to the late John and Pauline (Rebro) Thomka in Kenosha. She was educated in the schools of Kenosha and graduated from Kenosha High School.On June 10, 1938, she married Julius L. Matolek Jr. in Crown Point, Ind. He preceded her in death in 1979.Margaret worked as a sales manager/clerk for Heins, then Bardens and then at Lepps for many years.Margaret is a member of St. Peters Catholic Church.Margaret is a former member of St. Marys Senior Center, the Trinity Seniors, Senior Action Council, SHARE and Women of the Moose Chapter #155.Margaret enjoyed gardening and had beautiful roses. She enjoyed playing pinochle, cribbage, traveling to Europe and baking Christmas cookies for her grandchildren.Margaret is survived by her son, Julius Matolek III of Aurora, Ill., and her daughter, Karen L. Kushman of Kenosha; her grandchildren, Frank (Therese) Kushman, Debra Kushman, Casey Matolek, Julius Matolek IV and Jackson Matolek; her great grandson, Patrick and her sisters, Ida Christensen of Kenosha, Martha Call of Racine and Julia Julie Herrick of Kenosha.Her sisters, Janice Johnson and Helen Galister; her brother, John Thomka and her grandson, Steven Kushman preceded her in death.A memorial service for Margaret will be held on Monday, July 8, at 10 a.m. at the Bruch Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
