Margaret "Pearl" Mickens-Chapman was a loving wife, mother, aunt, sister, and friend. She went to be with her Lord on June 20, 2021 at age 42 after a hard fought battle with a long term illness. She was born to Gloria and Edwin Mickens on August 31, 1978. After graduating from Tri Valley High school, Pearl moved to Cincinatti, OH where she met her husband, Truman Chapman. Together, they had 2 daughters, Hannah in 1998 and Tamara in 2001, as well as dozens of the girls' friends, who affectionately referred to her as "Momma Pearl".
Pearl was preceded in death by her father, Edwin Mickens, grandparents, and several aunts and uncles. In addition to her loving husband and daughters, Pearl is survived by her mother, Gloria Mickens; several siblings: Janine Booker and family of Cleveland, OH; Trudy Mickens of Dearborn, MI; Nicole Dennis and family of Steubenville, OH Reginald Mickens and family of Nazareth, PA; Mitchell Mickens and family of Masontown, PA; Sharon Headlee and family of Cincinnati, OH; Danforth Mickens of Winter Haven, FL; and her faithful fur children, Mitzy and Hopper.
Pearl loved spending time in her garden and cooking. She loved animals, and enjoyed taking her furbabies for walks in times of better health. She was a skilled self taught piano player and filled her home with music during family gatherings.
It was Pearl's wish that a small private ceremony be held, and her ashes spread at sea at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider volunteering at or donating to your local animal shelter.
