Margaret Sajdak, 98, passed away on Oct. 14, 2016, at Providence Alaska Medical Center. Margaret was born on May 29, 1918, in Ashland, Wis. Margaret moved to Alaska in 1940, making Anchorage her lifelong home.Margaret was a member and volunteer with the Pioneers of Alaska Women's Igloo No. 4. She also volunteered her time with Holy Family Cathedral. When she wasn't volunteering she would enjoy gardening, fishing, hunting, baking and canning. She was a loving grandmother and great-grandmother. The family references Proverbs 31, "Virtuous Woman" as this is an apt description of how Margaret strove to be in life.Margaret is survived by her daughter, Marie Doil; grandson, Peter Raypold; granddaughter, Theresa Ball; great-grandsons, Douglas, Glenn, and Branden; along with great-granddaughters, Bethany and Kaylie, all of Anchorage, Alaska. Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence.There will be a public visitation on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016, at Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel, 737 E Street in Anchorage, beginning at 12 p.m. Funeral services will immediately follow, beginning at 1 p.m. Margaret will be laid to rest at Anchorage Memorial Park Cemetery at 2 p.m.Arrangements are with Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
