We gather here today to mourn the passing of Margaret “Maggie” Grant, a woman who lived a long and fulfilling life in Lynchburg, Virginia. Born on April 12, 1934, Maggie was the beloved daughter of Olivia and Wade Crawford, who are no longer with us. She was also preceded in death by her loving spouse, Wallace Grant, whom she married in 1953.

Maggie leaves behind a legacy of five children: Virginia Bowling, Irvin Michael Grant, Terry Grant, Phillip Grant, and Carolyn Tyree, along with their spouses. She was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren, all of whom she cherished deeply.

After graduating from Elon High School in 1952, Maggie dedicated her life to her work at Virginia Baptist Hospital, where she served tirelessly until her retirement in 1991. She was also instrumental in founding and supporting the And loving her beloved dog Tia organization, a cause that was near and dear to her heart.

One of Maggie’s greatest joys in life was her hobby of collecting sea shells, a passion that brought her much happiness and serenity over the years.

As we say goodbye to Maggie, let us remember her as a woman who lived with grace, kindness, and a love for life that touched all those around her. May she rest in peace, reunited with her loved ones who have gone before her.
