Margarita "Maggie" C. Ramirez, 80, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2009. She was born on February 22, 1929 in Somerton. Maggie was a retired cook of 41 years. She held a "bachelors degree" in Parenting. She loved the casinos, cooking, gardening, being with family, and enjoyed her many friends. Maggie is survived by her daughters, Rosa (Gabriel), Bertha Avila (Ed), Lenor Gill (Mackie), Mary Zaragoza (Ramiro), and Margaret Cranny (Ian); son, Angel Avila; sister, Ignacio Palacio; 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; Maggie was preceded in death by her parents, DeSantiago Canales and Estefania Ramirez; husband, Guillermo Rodriguez; sisters, Francisca Ramirez and Concha Ramirez; brothers, Jesus Ramirez, Rafael Ramirez, Macario Ramirez, and Inez Ramirez; nephews, Jose Ramirez and Javier Garcia. A visitation will take place at Johnson Mortuary Chapel on Thursday, September 17, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, Garden of St. Joseph. Pallbearers will be Gabriel Lucero, Ed Rollings, Alfonso Gill Jr. III, Carlos Zaragoza, Angel Avila, Ian Cranny, Aaron Burgos, and Alfonso Gill Jr. II. Honorary pallbearers are Ramon Gill, Albert Gill, Andrew Lucero, Adam Lucero, Ian J. Cranny, Isreal Avila, Isaac Durr, Angel Durr, Jacob Rollings, and Michael Burgos.
