Corral, Maria Elena 88, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family and friends on December 12th. She was born on November 17, 1928 in Mexico. She came to Scottsdale in 1948, a newlywed and raised her family. Elena and her husband worked hard together in their early years making Los Olivos Mexican Patio in downtown Scottsdale what it is today. She was an amazing woman with an infectious smile and beautiful blue eyes. Elena loved life, worked in her garden, was a dog lover and loved to travel. She was fortunate to see the world with her husband, close friends and family. Elena preferred cruises so that she could see the world by day and gamble by night. She loved singing, dancing, and music and was happiest when family would join her. Family was her priority and once you were brought to her home you were considered family. Elena touched many hearts with her generosity and hospitality and will be missed by many. We will miss you Mom! We will miss you Nana! She is survived by two daughters, Ruby Corral-Peck and Maria "Chispa" Corral, two sons, Johnny and Hector Corral and a son in-law and two daughters in-law. She is survived by 18 grandchildren, 4 grandchildren in-laws and 8 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her caregiver of many years, two brothers, three sisters and many nieces and nephews.
